Durst Tau 330 Allows Design Label Systems to Expand to New Markets
Design Label Systems, based in Ontario, Canada, is an integrated product ID and label solutions provider with regional dominance and national reach in the pressure sensitive label industry. After deciding to enter the digital label market, the company recently acquired a Durst Tau 330 digital UV label press, which has already had a positive impact on its business.
Durst Tau 330
The highly flexible Tau 330 can be integrated with any third-party finishing system — conventional or digital — making it one of the most versatile solutions on the market. It requires no inline priming to handle industry-standard substrates and is also compatible with a wide range of specialty films and foils. Like the rest of the Durst family of products, the Tau 330 delivers outstanding quality, industry-leading productivity, and world-renowned reliability.
New Capabilities, New Opportunities
After extensive research, DLS management identified the seven-color Tau 330 with inline SMAG finishing system as its machine of choice, citing significant savings as well as faster turnaround. VP Imran Faruqui says, “The Tau has already drastically reduced time spent on prepress tasks, it creates highly accurate proofs, and provides tremendous ink laydown, which has allowed us to get into more demanding markets.”
DLS has been using the Tau primarily for shorter run, very high quality projects. “Pharmaceuticals, beauty & cosmetics, wine labels — these are markets we could not have competed in with traditional printing. Digital is perfect for them. And it has already paid off!” says Adam Faruqui, marketing and sales director. To learn more, view DLS Production Team video and DLS Business Team video.
