Domino continues to grow and invest in resources for their digital printing business with the appointments Sarah Ervin and Dennis Moore to its Digital Solutions Program.
Sarah Ervin joins Domino as digital solutions specialist, Digital Printing North America.
Sarah comes to Domino with several years’ experience in the printing and graphic arts industries, most recently with Fujifilm’s Graphic Systems Division.
Sarah has a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Communications from Chowan University and a Professional Certificate in Functional Imaging and Electronic Printing from Cal Poly. She is a Certified G7 Expert and has completed FTA First Training: Levels 1 and 2 (Integration Specialist).
Sarah joins Dennis Moore, who transitions to the Digital Solutions team, also as a digital solutions specialist.
Dennis joined Domino in February 2015 as Applications Engineer, in which he focused on Esko DFE and Color Management integration, user training, pre-sales and post-sales support for Domino N610i digital UV inkjet label press customers. Dennis mastered technical procedures and created documentation and training materials for DFE software components, as well as coordinated with installation planners, project managers, and account managers to provide a best-in-class customer experience.
Dennis is a G7 Expert and a Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert, and a Color Management Professional Master. He has over 24 years’ experience in color management and printing technologies with previous employment at GMG Color, xpedx, and Watt Printers.
Domino began the Digital Solutions Program in 2017, led by Patrick LaMourie, Digital Solutions Manager. The tremendous success of the program, coupled with the increasing need to expand it due to customer demand, paved the way to add additional resources to the team. We sat down with Patrick to understand more about the program.
What is the Domino Digital Solutions Program and why was it established?
“The Digital Solutions Program provides Domino customers the opportunity for additional training and education workshops to help them maximize their digital investment. The program encompasses business analysis, estimating, workflow optimization, application development, and more. As we started to grow our install base, we recognized the need for training and support beyond what is provided as standard with a press purchase. Adding a digital asset can affect many parts of our customers’ business, and a successful integration goes way beyond the production floor. In the end, this program was initiated to address specific customer requests. And what we have found is that customers utilizing the Digital Solutions Program are maximizing their performance, efficiency, and consistency; they are learning where to gain new opportunities to grow their business; and ultimately they are able to make more money and maximize their profitability using the Domino N610i digital UV inkjet label press.” says Patrick.
What specific things are customers asking for the most?
“We currently offer a wide-range of workshops including Intro to Digital Printing, Customer Sales Training, Estimating & Workflow, Color Management, and Media Qualification. I would say that Estimating Support and Sales Training are probably our most popular courses right now, followed by various Color Management requests. We even help customers with consumables management, as we believe extending that crossover with traditional flexo drives more work to the Domino N610i, which helps customers maximize their productivity, efficiency and consistency.”
Does Domino charge for these services?
“We do. Our feeling is that we have a very experienced and qualified group with unique backgrounds in the industry, specifically in inkjet production, who are helping educate the marketplace. We also feel that the ROI for these services are easy for our customers to achieve in a reasonable timeframe. Most of our customers purchase multi-day packages at the time of press purchase, but customers can also purchase days ‘a la carte’. In either case, our customers can tailor the program to their specific needs, as it is very customizable.”
Do you have plans to expand the program?
“Absolutely! We are working on some workshops specific to hybrid production and shrink sleeves, among other things. And with our team recently growing to include new hire Sarah Ervin, and Dennis Moore who transitioned from another group, we see exciting opportunities for our customers. Sarah and Dennis are both G7 Certified and Color Experts and bring with them years of experience,” Patrick concludes.
