Rex Pak, Canada's leading dry food blending and packaging co-manufacturer specializing in manual, semi-automatic and automatic packing, has 32 production lines and manages hundreds of stock keeping units (SKUs) in its Toronto-based facility. Rex Pak has partnered with Domino to develop a highly sophisticated system for coding and marking hundreds of SKUs to accommodate its wide range of clientele within the food industry.
“One of the biggest challenges we have with managing hundreds of SKUs is fitting them all into production,” Matthew Perfetti of Rex Pak Technical Services, said. “Using the Domino equipment allows us to roll it around from machine to machine and complete the job for us.”
Rex Pak employs an impressive arrangement of technology to facilitate production identification and digital printing solutions within its custom designed FDA-inspected, CFIA-approved building including: Domino’s A-series inkjet, D-series laser, S-series laser, G-series thermal inkjet and C-Series large character inkjet.
This complex partnership grows more intricate with the success of Rex Pak and the ever-changing supply chain standards of the food industry.
“We went with Domino because of the reliability of the equipment,” Vice President of Manufacturing, Devin Sabatini, said. "We just placed an order for two more inkjets and one case coder … Their [Domino’s] equipment has managed to stay cutting edge after all these years.”
