Disc Graphics Seeks FSC Certification
HAUPPAUGE, N.Y.—Disc Graphics announced it is in the process of certification by the Forestry Stewardship Council (FSC) as an ecologically responsible end user. Certification by the Council acknowledges companies that use supplies and methods that adhere to the principles of sustainability. Disc Graphics hosted an Eco-Summit to demonstrate the various ways printing and packaging companies can be environmentally conscious and remain accountable to both the environment and the public. Sr. Vice President John Rebecchi said, “Disc Graphics is committed to the issue of sustainability and working with our customers to take an eco-design approach to their packaging.”
Companies represented at the Eco-Summit included the ecological group Rainforest Alliance, as well as two of Disc Graphics’ suppliers: Potlatch Forest Products Corporation and Mohawk Paper. Potlatch’s Director of Marketing Mark Ohleyer said, “Disc Graphics is putting the same strong effort into sustainability as it does with its customers’ needs.”
