EDINA, Minn.—A study of digital print will be highlighted at the 43rd annual IPA Technical Conference to be held in downtown Chicago, April 22-24. The complete program, “Leveraging Cross Media Convergence,” is now online at http://www.ipa.org/tech
Photographers, designers, production managers, IT specialists, prepress managers, and printers will come together at the graphics workflow event to share ideas and insights about how to improve their workflow capabilities to provide more effective graphic solutions for their clients. During the event, attendees will learn the results of the landmark study of digital print currently being conducted under the direction of Dr. Abhay Sharma of Ryerson University. This in-depth study will reveal a complete snapshot of digital printing color consistency as well as the business and technologies of digital print.
Other conference highlights include production workflow reports and keynotes sharing insights and trend analysis regarding the convergence of the creative, pre-media, electronic and traditional print workflows. In the learning lab, attendees will receive hands-on training on critical workflow processes and software applications from independent experts on state-of-the-art workstations. In the technology track, experts will share innovative solutions and lead discussions about best practices in premedia and color reproduction. In the leaders track, business and technology leaders will evaluate the impact of new technologies on the effective operation and profitability of their enterprises.
A pre-conference program included in the registration fee includes a workshop for those interested in obtaining certification in IPA’s new color management professional (CMP) certification program as well as a workflow interoperability demonstration later that evening. In the workflow demonstration, attendees will donate their skills to create a cross-media marketing campaign for Big Brother Big Sister of Chicago, gaining a better understanding of workflow capabilities while supporting this leading charitable organization.
