Schober Features Rotary Diecutting, RFID at Labelexpo
FAIRFIELD, Ohio—Schober will feature Rotary Die Cutting and RFID Technology in booth 1025 during Labelexpo USA in Chicago from September 14-16, 2010. Technologies on display will focus on the production of in-mold labels including the RSM-IML/MX machine for the rotary diecutting of labels at high speed. This technology unwinds label rolls, diecuts labels, counts, stacks and delivers labels, and rewinds waste matrix under tension control. Five different stacking devices are included, “M” stack for very shorts runs, “S” stack for long runs, “SM” for awkward products, “SMA” for a fully automated solution, and V stack for very large products—making the RSM-IML/MX ideal for many in-mold labeling applications.
Registration is constantly monitored (customers report ±0.004˝ contour and a 0.008 diecut-to-print accuracy) so that a print-to-cut accuracy of 0.015˝ is maintained at 95 percent of production. Web widths of 260 mm (10.2˝), 330 mm (13˝), and 410 mm (16.14˝) can be accommodated with a maximum roll diameter of 39.4˝.
RFID-CP
Schober will also unveil its RFID-CP which is an ideal solution for medium and small label runs using pre-printed heavy label stock. This new technology inserts UHF and HF inlays under diecut blank or pre-printed labels and validates the finished product. Control and monitoring is accomplished through the new pendant station which houses an industrial PC. Additional features, which make this a cost-effective RFID solution, include a new tag dispenser with web tension relief, strategically placed start/stop buttons, greater information gathering capabilities, and optional static discharge protection.
TF 520 Multi-Purpose Ticket Folder
Another Schober innovation on display is the TF 520 Multi-Purpose Ticket Folder. This is the largest of the TF line of products which are designed for high capacity folding of tickets, labels, and forms in single or multiple streams. In addition to folding, products are separated using an on-board slitter. A counter and marking device are also included to further enhance the functionality of the TF product line.
