Collins Inkjet Shows Off E-Beam Curing (Video)

In an email sent out on Monday, Collins Inkjet provided a video of its new E-Beam curing unit in action. The release states that the unit, from PCT Engineered Systems, runs in-line with a Dimatix Starfire printhead (SG1024).

The email explains that EB inkjet inks are ideal for the substrate and application shown in the video because of its streamlined ink formulation and because heat is not generated during curing. Collins Inkjet says in its email that as far as the company is aware, it is the first digital ink company to have a set up like this in house. The company states that it believes EB curing will be instrumental in the future of curable inkjet inks.
