BST International Establishes a New Subsidiary in China

BST International GmbH, a leading global manufacturer of web inspection and guiding systems for printing, converting and tire manufacturing, has expanded its global scope with the establishment of a new subsidiary company, BST International Shanghai Co., Ltd., located in Songjiang.

The new subsidiary will allow BST to operate and grow their business in this market in ways that were not possible previously. Presently about one eighth of the company’s total turn over comes from China. In Songjiang, BST has invested about € 250,000 in manufacturing, sales and service support. Here they will manufacture country specific components such as mechanical guiding devices for web guiding systems, and will conduct sales and support activities, especially for the expanding tire segment.

Jenny Zhang, the previous head of BST’s representation office in China, has been appointed managing director. She has been with the company for five years and is extremely familiar with the markets and customers, as well as the products of BST.

“The Chinese expectations of products of German manufacturers are very high”, says BST Managing Director Wolfgang Küster. “With our subsidiary enterprise we expect to be in a position to react quickly to the market and at the same time guarantee the highest quality products for our customers.”

China is not the only market into which BST International will be expanding. Future plans call for India, Brazil, and Eastern Europe to be the focus of activities designed to increase business operations and customer support.
