Automation of Corrugated Machinery Expected to Highlight SuperCorrExpo
ATLANTA, Ga.—The 2012 TAPPI/AICC SuperCorrExpo®, an important global hub of corrugated networking, will display the newest advances in materials handling and equipment when it brings together the largest corrugated solution providers in the Western Hemisphere next year. SuperCorrExpo will come to the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta from Oct. 1-4, 2012.
Jim Martin, director of corporate accounts at Alliance Machine Systems, International, who has worked for more than 25 years in the corrugated industry, expects materials handling exhibitors at SuperCorrExpo to demonstrate machinery with much more automation than in years past.
“SuperCorrExpo will have working machinery that will show much better communication between components, which will mean faster speeds for box plant operators and increased productivity,” Martin said. “From a human resource perspective, increased automation also means machines that will be operator friendly, safer to control and simpler to maintain.”
Martin says the technical advances made with materials handling equipment just since the last SuperCorrExpo, in 2008, will be easy to see for attendees on the floor at the 2012 SuperCorrExpo.
“Many products that we saw on the floor at the last SuperCorrExpo have now been perfected. They can accommodate larger size ranges so that we can take advantage of the full potential of finishing machines. We’re going to see speed and efficiency on the take-off end so that the finishing lines can run at maximum speed.”
SuperCorrExpo will attract exhibitors from the entire globe, including many exhibitors from developing economies.
Martin expects many of those international customers to find solutions specific to their needs at SuperCorrExpo 2012. “For instance, I think we’ll see prefeeding for mini-flexos that are fast and can handle narrow stacks,” he said. Metric designs will be available, too.
Several companies exhibiting at SuperCorrExpo 2012 offer materials handling and equipment. These include Alliance Machine Systems, International, LLC; Automated Conveyor Systems, Inc. (ACS); C&M Conveyor, Inc.; Star-Pack, Inc.; Stratis Plastic Pellets; Systec Conveyors; Taiwan Endurance Co. Ltd; and Tribco Inc.
Occurring only once every four years, SuperCorrExpo is the largest exposition for corrugated solution providers and corrugated solution seekers in the Western Hemisphere. More than 300 industry suppliers gather with thousands of industry leaders from all over the world at SuperCorrExpo.
