Anticipation Builds Over IADD·FSEA Odyssey
New products, more equipment and greater takeaway value are just a few of the reasons Odyssey attendance continues to escalate in record numbers. Slated to take place May 13-15 at the Schaumburg Convention Center in Schaumburg, IL, the 2015 IADD·FSEA Odyssey will unveil exciting new programming in an innovative learning arena like no other venue in North America.
From technical sessions conducted on-press in the Techshop or in classrooms to a Technology Hall filled with the widest range of products and services specific to diecutting/diemaking, foil stamping, folding/gluing, digital printing and a host of other specialty diemaking and finishing processes, the Odyssey provides strategies for profitability and growth.
New this year, Friday's Digital Day (May 15) will include programming targeted to the digital finishing marketplace, including an on-press demonstration of the MGI JetVarnish digital press; a “Cartons in Minutes” presentation from Kluge on digitally printed folding cartons that are laser cut and then folded/glued all in-line; and a classroom session on new digital decorating and diecutting technologies.
A sneak peak at programming also includes “New Technologies to Improve Carton Quality and Decrease Rejects” on an AIM Signature folder-gluer 110CS with a Fast Fold Unit and Vision Camera Inspection System and “Additive Manufacturing (3D printing) Possibilities for Diemakers and Converters,” where attendees will discover how diemakers are using additive manufacturing (3D printing) to prototype countless new products at unprecedented speeds and cost-effective rates.
Networking opportunities at the Odyssey to share ideas and best practices with peers include a welcome reception on Wednesday, May 13 (sponsored by Sentry Insurance) and a Gala Awards reception and banquet on Thursday evening, where the IADD Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Russ Smith, Ward Machinery and the FSEA Gold Leaf Award Winners will be announced.
