The top-quality print results are partially due to two important factors. First, the unique engineering of the cells allows excess thick ink to be doctored off without trapping air. With less ink build-up on the roll, “spitting” of UV inks off the doctor blade and “misting” of UV, water-based and solvent-based inks on high-speed presses are minimized. Second, the serpentine sidewalls support the doctor blade, leaving no trace of vertical lines in the printed surface.
