Amcor Flexibles Wins a WorldStar Award
ZURICH—December 17, 2014—Amcor Flexibles' StayClean packaging has won a WorldStar award at the World Packaging Organization (WPO) 2015 competition.
“We are honored to receive this award as it recognizes Amcor’s continuing efforts to provide innovative packaging solutions,” said Tom Cochran, vice president and general manager - Americas and Medical Europe, Amcor Flexibles Europe and Americas. “We are committed to investing in the products, processes and services that meet our customers’ unique needs and we are proud to be distinguished by winning a WorldStar award. This follows StayClean’s Flexible Packaging Association 2014 Silver Award in Technical Innovation.”
Amcor’s StayClean flexible overwrap does not contain components that might transfer to the product. This is especially useful in pharmaceutical and medical products for individuals susceptible to contaminants, such as patients suffering from asthma and other respiratory diseases. The packaging is also able to be quickly sealed.
Amcor’s StayClean packaging is suitable for a range of applications where both elimination of interaction between the product and packaging and efficient manufacturing is desirable.
Representatives from 17 packaging associations, members of WPO (World Packaging Organization), judged 264 packaging projects, from 37 countries, that applied for WorldStar Awards 2015. The judging session took place on November 19, 2014 in Colombo, Sri Lanka and results were officially announced on December 2, 2014.
To be eligible to enter WorldStar Awards, the packaging must be a winner in a national or multinational competition that is recognized by WPO.
WPO is a non-profit, non-governmental, international federation of packaging institutes, associations, federations and other interested parties including corporations and trade associations.
