MACtac Supports Digital Printing
STOW, Ohio—Continuing to enhance its INDIE® line of certified stocks for digital press technology, MACtac® Printing Products recently received Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) certification for four of its INDIE film labelstocks on the HP Indigo WS6000 press. In addition, MACtac has further enhanced its digital label offering with a series of qualified paper and synthetic film labelstocks for the Xeikon 3000 Series of digital label presses.
MACtac's INDIE Clear Polypropylene, INDIE Matte Polypropylene, INDIE Gloss Polypropylene, INDIE Label-Lyte® are topcoated for printing on the HP Indigo series WS2000, WS4000, and now WS6000 presses. The pre-treated film labelstocks alleviate the need for converters to apply their own topcoats on the press and are available with a variety of adhesive options to meet most labeling application needs.
"As digital press technology continues to evolve, so do the printing requirements for each new press. MACtac is constantly expanding our INDIE line of certified digital labelstocks, allowing us to provide customers with a variety of material options that are compatible with the latest press technologies," said Allison Hazel, marketing manager, MACtac Printing Products.
MACtac Printing Products partnered with Xeikon to ensure that label converters achieve optimal print performance on the tested substrates. "We are pleased to partner with Xeikon to qualify several of our products specifically for Xeikon-based printing, ensuring converters that pairing product and press will result in high-quality, exceptionally printed labels," noted Hazel.

Color-Logic Goes Digital
WEST CHESTER, Ohio—Color-Logic has released a digital version of its Color-Logic Process Metallic Printing System. Originally available only for offset lithography, the system enables licensed printers to produce metallic effects on certain digital presses produced by HP Indigo and Xeikon. The digital version of the Color-Logic software is immediately available.
Announcing the release of the digital version, Color-Logic director of sales and marketing Mark Geeves commented: "The digital version of our popular metallic color printing system has undergone extensive testing by several digital printers and has produced outstanding results on labels, folding cartons, and collateral literature printed digitally on several different press models. HP Indigo and Xeikon users with industrial machines capable of 5-color printing (white plus CMYK) and running metallic substrate can utilize the Color-Logic process to produce as many as 250 different metallic hues. The Color-Logic software incorporates the metallic substrate into the design to create an effect equivalent to that achieved when running offset lithographic images with metallic ink."
