INX Attains EcoLogo Certification
SCHAUMBURG, Ill.—INX International Ink Co. announced that its EcoTech™ TC sheetfed inks recently earned verification and certification through the environmental standard EcoLogo™ Program. Certified inks include four EcoTech process colors and 11 blending bases.
EcoLogo is exclusively managed by TerraChoice, a global leader in environmental certification and green marketing whose majority owner, ULC Standards, is part of the Underwriters Laboratories global network and provides environmental services to companies around the world. Its logo and certification assures that all environmental claims made by manufacturers are understandable, as well as both accurate and reliable.
"This is a significant honor not only for the EcoTech TC blending bases, but also for our Research & Development department and the people behind the products," said Chris Bonk, INX sheetfed technical director. "When an organization of this stature recognizes and verifies your products, it tells the print industry that we have met or exceeded very demanding guidelines. Our inks required special formulations and manufacturing techniques to achieve these results."
TLMI L.I.F.E. Certification
GLOUCESTER, Mass.—ITW Labels and LogoTech have recently been awarded L.I.F.E. (Label Initiative for the Environment) certification from the Tag and Label Manufacturers Institute (TLMI). ITW Labels has become certified in the company's Gardner, Kan. and St. Charles, Mo. facilities and LogoTech in its Fairmont, N.J. facility. The Project L.I.F.E. program was developed in order to assist TLMI members to find cost-effective ways to reduce their companies' environmental footprint.
Frank Sablone, TLMI president, comments, "I would like to congratulate ITW and LogoTech on their recent TLMI L.I.F.E. certification. The central objective in developing the L.I.F.E. initiative was to offer the association's members a credible and comprehensive program that addresses their sustainability requirements, and the opportunity to take their L.I.F.E. certification to their own customer base to further demonstrate their commitment to the environment, and to the greater industry. RotoMetrics Receives ISO Certification
ST. LOUIS, Mo.—RotoMetrics announced its successful completion of audits for Environmental Management at all global manufacturing facilities and the certification to the ISO 14001 standard. According to RotoMetrics, the certification makes it the first company in the rotary tooling industry to achieve the global environmental standard.
"RotoMetrics has made a commitment to lead our industry in more sustainable production, and achieving the ISO 14001 standard at all our facilities is a huge accomplishment," said Michael Bryant, RotoMetrics president and CEO.
